Worker’s Compensation
If you are injured in an accident or because of repetitive trauma while performing your job the financial burden of medical bills and lost wages should not fall to you. We work with injured workers throughout the metro Kansas City and surrounding areas in both Missouri and Kansas.
If you are injured on the job or become unable to work due to a work-related medical condition, you may qualify for workers’ compensation benefits. Work injuries are not limited to an accident or trauma. If your work requires repetitive movements, this too can cause an injury that may be compensable under Missouri or Kansas workers’ compensation laws.
In general, your employer is required to provide medical treatment for your injuries. They are also required to pay temporary total disability benefits when you are unable to work because of your injuries as well as compensation payment for any permanent disability you incurred as a result of your injury.
It is important to report your injury to your employer immediately or as soon as you believe you have suffered an injury. Your employer is required to report the injury to the Division of Workers’ Compensation. You should also request treatment for your injuries from your employer. It is also important to remember there are time limitations that must be met in reporting your injury and filing a claim for compensation. At Patton Wagner & Associates, PC, we can help you with the process to ensure you are able to obtain the benefits you are entitled to under the workers’ compensation laws.
